More About Alexandra Savu

Alexandra Savu is an award-winning filmmaker, editor and director. A graduate of Southern Methodist University with a BFA degree in Film and Media Arts, Alexandra has freelanced her own productions, working in post (color correction/grading, sound mixing, after effects and editing), directing crews, conducting cinematography for various film genres, and producing short films. Alexandra has created an original style of filmmaking, emphasizing the complexity of human emotions and people's genuine reactions facing life's plot twists.

Alexandra is currently working in post at AV SQUAD in the audio/visual department supporting the editing for theatrical and home entertainment marketing campaigns. In the past, Alexandra has worked at NBCUniversal within the creative marketing department and has freelanced as an editor/sound mixer/colorist and graphics designer at multiple post houses in Dallas, Atlanta and Los Angeles. She has mainly focused her career on editing quality art pieces, from short-form promotional content for BRAVO shows and Hollywood movie trailers to feature documentaries, music videos, and short internationally acclaimed independent films.

"I love illustrating my ideas and stories through different genres, editing styles, post workflows, and visual creative decisions made within a collaborative environment. I am absorbed by how passion and persistence can bring together creative people in post rooms and on film/TV sets, where they find a safe space to create art that inspires.

Why do I create? It’s the only thing that fully absorbs me and keeps my world moving at all times."
