Alexandra Savu has obtained a BFA degree in Film and Media Arts from Southern Methodist University in May 2023, and is currently exploring the many facets of post-production within a freelance context, which allows her to constantly pursue various challenging and engaging projects.
Since entering the media industry about a decade ago, she has been freelancing her own productions, working in post (color correction/grading, sound mixing, after effects, and editing), directing crews, conducting cinematography for various film genres, and producing short films. Alexandra has created an original filmmaking style, emphasizing human emotions and reactions in critical moments.
Alexandra also has experience in the industry, having worked as a contractor, assistant editor/sound mixer, and graphics designer at different post houses in Dallas, such as 3008 Studios, Charlie Uniform Tango, and Pepelwerk. She has also interned for a year and a half at NBCUniversal within the cable entertainment and creative marketing department for BRAVO and E!, where she learned the ins and outs of editing and producing short-form content for social media and on-air.
"I love illustrating my ideas and stories through different genres, directing techniques, and cinematography styles within a collaborative environment. I am so fascinated by how passion and dedication bring together creative people on film/TV sets, where they find a safe space to make art. Why do I create? It’s the only thing that fully absorbs me and keeps my world moving at all times."
